A pair of Great spotted Woodpeckers have for weeks now been frequenting the feeding station. A Green Woodpecker turns up from time to time too. Nice birds for the garden. A small flock of Fieldfares in the garden are quite a rarity also.

 
Last weekend was great from a photographic point of view. Plenty of snow to make the place look pretty. Thankfully it has all gone now and so have the geese which arrived with the cold weather. Lots of Whitefronts, a few Barnacles, A Bean and single figures of Brent geese. Other wildfowl such as Wigeon still very much in evidence,

Above is the Bamira male tiger from Bandhavgarh, the son of the famous B2 with whom he had a scrap and who died as a consequence of his injuries. He a strong beautiful and dominant tiger and it was a priviledge to find him last winter.
